About
One person, a degree in this from 2001, and twenty-five years of building for the web since. Here's the honest version.
Who you're actually hiring
I'm Walter. Tealvana is me — operating as a DBA under Pineywoods ProWash LLC, working out of Livingston and covering the Humble and Kingwood side as well.
I graduated from The Art Institute of Houston in 2001 with an associate degree in multimedia and web design. That's twenty-five years of building for the web, and a career in IT alongside it. The technical side of this isn't something I picked up from a weekend course.
It matters more than it sounds like it should. A lot of people selling local marketing can operate a dashboard but couldn't tell you why a page is slow, what broke when the hosting lapsed, or how to move a domain without taking the business offline for a week. I've been doing the underneath part of this since before Google Maps existed.
What you get from a one-person shop
The person who sold it to you is the person doing it. No junior handing your profile to a tool, no account manager relaying your question to somebody else. You text me, I answer.
I cap how many Google Maps clients I take. Not as a scarcity tactic — as arithmetic. Doing this properly takes about three hours per client per month, and one person only has so many of those. When the cap is full I'll tell you it's full, rather than take your money and do a worse job for everybody already on the books.
Why Google Maps and not "marketing"
Because for a service business that people search for by location, the map pack is where the calls come from, and it's the piece almost nobody has set up properly. A website matters. Ads can work. But if somebody three miles away searches your trade and you don't appear, none of the rest of it gets a chance.
It's also measurable, which matters to me more than it probably should. I can show you a grid of where you rank across your service area, then show you the same grid ninety days later. That's a real before and after, not a story about impressions.
What I'm not
- An agency. There's no team, and pretending otherwise would fall apart on the first call.
- A reseller or partner for any software or hardware vendor. Tags come through at cost.
- Somebody who'll tell you what you want to hear. If your grid scan comes back clean, the honest answer is that you don't need me, and I've given that answer.
How to start
Ask for the snapshot. It's a one-page picture of where you rank across your service area and who's ahead of you, it costs nothing, and there's no obligation attached in either direction. If it shows a problem worth fixing, we'll talk about fixing it. If it doesn't, I'll say so.
Let me show you where you stand. Then you decide.
Tell me your business name and I'll run your Maps snapshot — free, nothing to sign. You'll see exactly where you show up, who's ahead of you, and why.
